CardFit Scanner is built for one narrow lane first: English Pokemon raw singles. The iPhone reads the card on-device, matches it to a canonical catalog record, and only then asks for current-listing evidence with source and freshness.
Trust boundary
Normal App Store scans stay on-device. After a canonical match exists, CardFit may request current-listing evidence using the matched card identifier and finish.
Card reading stays local
The App Store release lane reads the card and performs deterministic local matching before any backend valuation request happens.
No best-guess card identity
CardFit stops on weak or ambiguous evidence instead of inventing a final card or pretending a broad search is an exact match.
